The 28" gun has a Miller non selective trigger, it has been GOD LIKE for ever. I Had both of the guns glass bedded early on, and I think it is a good idea for any old double gun that one plans on shooting. A man like Destry will break a stock, even with lite loads, and faster on an older gun.
Lawrence is right on with his comment on Gauge Mates. They open up A whole new ball park for the ten Gauge. I Shoot 12 Gauge 2 3/4" and 3 In. Mags with the Gauge Mates, and they shoot damn good. I do not shoot many targets with a ten, but I have shot an Idaho Elk with a 750 Grain Slug,(one shot kill) and a couple of mule deer with the same slugs. Big lead shot in the ten makes it a wounderful Coyote gun. They will shoot a lot futher than most people would believe.
I do think that glass bedding is a must for an old ten gauge. A good job and the stock will not break.

I had the stock head on my 10 gauge worked over a few years ago. It's definitely a good idea on a waterfowling gun that shoots heavy loads on a regular basis and LongRange is probably right that it's a good idea on any vintage double that gets shot regularly.

The ten gauge of Markethunter's dreams has minimum .100 wall thickness in it's 34" bores and chambers just about 3 1/2" and weighs 13 1/2 pounds. I would be the first to admit that he could handle it much better than I.

Ole Cowboy,
Can't lay my hands on the data at the moment but it was something in the 200 range.
