Talking to the seller of this custom Hi-wall:

The style rings a bell, but there's no visible maker's name on the rifle. G&H perhaps?

What think you about pricing? Without a known maker, I'm thinking about $1500-1750, but would like someone with greater expertise to opine.

I'd want to see some in-focus photos. Metal has almost assuredly been buffed.

Definitely NOT a G&H, at least IMO it's not. The somewhat awkward-looking canoe-paddle shape of the buttstock is reminiscent of Hal Hartley's work but he didn't do many walnut stocks. Price mentioned is high for a donor action, the wood can probably be salvaged into something better-looking and perhaps the barrel might be usable since the owner is so proud of its accuracy. JMOFWIW.

I think your price is well short. Highwall actions, even this plain trigger varient just demand a premium these days. I do not care for highwall varmint rifles, and wish they had all been left as they were originally, so I view this only as an action which would run in the $1k range or better - for just the action. If there is any value to 218 barrels and the wood, then the whole gun is going to be well over your estimate.

PS. one possible plus is there may be enough wood left in that stock to extract a reasonable rebuild from it.

The action looks buffed and the wood is not as well executed as it could be. Cheekpiece is kinda crude and the forend overly long. Personally I would not give $1500 for it.
