I have found a Grulla and I'm trying to decide what model it is. It says on the sidelock Grulla No.2. Anyone have an idea which model it might be, or is this an old model that hasn't been produced for some time. I know the current models and this is a sidelock, doesn't have hand detachable locks, drop points, art. trigger, straight grip. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure when they started and stopped making them but my No. 2 was made in 1991. It has hand detachable lockplates, dropper points, and an articulated front trigger.

Any idea what a 12GA in 98% condition would be worth. It has a pad added instead of checkered butt.

Hi all, FWIW, the Grulla No. 2 was also imported by American Arms as a semi-custom gun. They also imported another SLE Model called the Derby that was made by both Zabala and F. Sarriugarte, with either a SNST or DT.
Both of these SLE had checkered butts, the pad must be an after market add on.
I've only seen a couple No. 2's for sale and the price was around 1.8k, but that was three years agao. I would take a guess and say around 2.1 to 2.2k today, just a guess.
Best of luck!!

Thanks for the help. Guy is asking $2500 for a 12GA with a pad added. Wasn't sure if it was worth it or not? Great shape and I love Grulla's, but didn't know this model.

Gerry, I'd say that's in the range of what I'd consider paying as long as the barrels were longer than 26". However, lately I've seen people paying almost as much or as much for sidelocks from Spanish makers that don't put out a product close to being in the same league. I paid $2150 NIB for my twenty gauge but that was way back then. I don't know how much variation there is between guns but the fit and finish of my No. 2 is excellent. The wood could have more figure and the engraving be more than 3/4 coverage of simple scroll but that's just embellishment. Still, they are more than adequate for a gun in that price range. The only other Spanish gun I have that I paid as much for is an AyA 4/53. In that comparison the Grulla is far and away the better made of the two.
