Gerry, I'd say that's in the range of what I'd consider paying as long as the barrels were longer than 26". However, lately I've seen people paying almost as much or as much for sidelocks from Spanish makers that don't put out a product close to being in the same league. I paid $2150 NIB for my twenty gauge but that was way back then. I don't know how much variation there is between guns but the fit and finish of my No. 2 is excellent. The wood could have more figure and the engraving be more than 3/4 coverage of simple scroll but that's just embellishment. Still, they are more than adequate for a gun in that price range. The only other Spanish gun I have that I paid as much for is an AyA 4/53. In that comparison the Grulla is far and away the better made of the two.
