I have pointing dogs that I use for wild birds and field trials. I have a FN 12 SxS with sling swivels and a Kebco strap and quick connect swivel links from New England Arms. It is very handy to be able to hang the gun on the shoulder and do some task with the dog like removing cactus, removing sand burrs, taking a bird, repositioning if they don't hold on "Whoa", giving them water etc...

I think the sling is very handy.
