Any ideas on the maker? What do you think of the condition? What would be a fair price to pay? Not sure what I would really use it for but I always wanted a 10ga.

Looks nice...

I've looked at few Dalys it just hard for me to deal with no proof marks and the price they want for the lower grade guns because of the Daly name.

I'd want to know chamber length...bore size and choke....those are 3 questions they more than likely can't answer....next would be how much less they could take for it.

If I wanted it I'd talk them down on price and then get ready to measure it yourself within 3 days of arrival.
Worst you could be out was a little time and shipping.

Check out a similar gun on the Bob Jones site (http://www.bobjonesguns.com/
It looks like a cleaner gun with fluid steel barrels at a much lower price from a very knowledgeable and reputable dealer. The Cabelas gun is almost certainly a Lindner gun, I don't know about the Bob Jones gun.

Both look to be Lindner examples with the Cabelas offering by Georg Lindner with Kolb's chicken scratching on it and the Bob Jones offering has the frame typical with an early H.A. Lindner( with cocking indicators and swivels usually associated with the German market) although I'd like to see a pic of the flats and tubes to confirm. The Cabela offering has the forend "bump"(as does Bob Jones' offering) as well as the forend lug(only a partial pic) and there looks to be the initial "A" beside the number "154". Neat how the serial number was engraved on the triggerbow. Nice selection of wood on the Cabela offering but I think it to be about $1k too high. Both are more than likely going to be chambered for 2 7/8". I prefer the pattern welded tubes but Bob Jone's looks to be the best deal. German 10 bores are a little heavy as a firestick wand in the dove field but are just dandy on teal and ducks, that is if you can bum some cartridges off of MarketHunter.

Kind Regards,

Raimey

The Cabela's gun has Bernard Damascus pattern. This was considered top of the line barrel material in it's day. Those barrels cost more than many complete guns when they were new.

The Bob Jones gun stock looks rather odd for that type of gun. Any thoughts ?

I prefer the earlier gun. As Raimey mentions the Cabelas gun (serial number #47) is an early hammerless most likely made by Georg Lindner. I own a very similar gun (#7) and it has 2 and 7/8" chambers. As Pete mentions, #47 features highest quality damascus tubes and beautiful wood. It looks to be a very tidy example.

The Bob Jones gun is a later gun. I would be shocked if it were not made by H.A. Lindner and should bear his marks. It is SD&G base model at the time - the model 118 (note the dollshead extension and lack of ejectors). Given the fluid steel barrels (should by Krupp) and lack of sideclips this is likely a late 1890s - very early 1900 gun. That said, the gun has been redone and has a lot of drop in the stock.

Both guns would make additions, but I find the older gun more interesting and desireable.

The Cabela's gun looks like it has at least 3 inches of drop.

Daryl, the butt stock looks like a re-stock to me.
