It is a hammerless boxlock with beautiful wood and very nice engraving with about 50% coverage. There are very few markings on the barrels or the watertable and the lettering on the rib is illegible due, I think, to being buffed and having some sort of coating applied, but the damascus barrels look very good inside and out and all numbers match.
I'll have to look for the book. how do I go about getting a letter?

Oddly enough I have been at Greeners this morning and speaking with Graham Greener. I went to show him two guns; a very early example of a Greener boxlock and an unusual Murcott, who's firm they bought out. Both guns may feature in a new book he is undertaking. I was surprised at the size of the place. It is set in the stable block of a country house. It is an 'L' shaped room not much bigger than most people's living room. Number of employees; 2! The only indication that I had the right place was a brass plaque on the wall about 9" by 6". Interesting visit. Lagopus.....
