Best thing he could do is send it to Ed and let him put the torch to it.

Actually it's not that bad..........screw alighnment would help a lot. It's nice to know that if something breaks down parts from other guns of this vintage and make can be canibalized to fix it. One major hurdle is that at that price it has to compete with many more modern quality guns from Germany, Austria, Spain,.....impossible task.

I think he's going to have to list a few more specs on the widow's gun, but ultimately, the cruel market will set the final price.

Eightbore, Actually he didn't spell it right. An orginal Lefever would not have the "E" for ejectors on the watertable.

What is interesting, to me at least, is the diamond mark on the barrel. I had assumed for a long time, this to be the trade mark of SB&Co. But, the more I see it, the less convinced I am about that. The BE looks like an after thought by the "upgrader". Pete That stamp of a diamond/rhombus with "Ludlum" is that of Ludlum Steel Company of Watervilet, N.Y. For the most part I've seen it with the name "Ludlum" in the center but I think I have seen it without. Kind Regards, Raimey rse

I have asked him to take the gun to Steve Bertram, since they are both in Colorado....Steve would render a fair opinion...No answer as yet...
