Greg, the normal double gun inspection you mentioned in first post will cover any Fox. As with any older double, barrel bores and walls should be checked for honing. Also, pay attention to the timing of the ejectors. Sometimes the right barrel ejector mechanism gets a bit worn due to primary use and it trips really late in the opening cycle, or won't trip at all. Not a big deal to retime but you'll have to find a man who knows how to do it. The Fox 2nd gen ejector system is very reliable but if an amateur goofs ups something, new ejector parts are hard to find.

You might consider joining the A H Fox Collectors Association - Fox guns may be advertised f/s or wanted on the MEMBERS FORUM. Also it seems many members give other members first dibs on Fox guns thru PM's and personal communications before they hit the auction sites and dealers.
