Rabbit, I use Kent's "Pure Gold" shells in my 2 1/2" 12's. Paper case, felt wad. I expect there are other options out there as well.

just picked up a 200ET a couple of weeks ago, barrels are marked 18.5 [.729], but I`m not believing it.Its choked bottom .704" top .696",made in 1993,but shoots like full or xfull with 9 shot. But it is a purpose built trap gun,so what did I expect? Anyways, the only reason I can think of Merkel choking them tight outright is to let the enduser open them up to his preference. Do you have a picture of your gun? I've been looking for a Merkel trap gun for some time and have yet to find one. I am particularly interested in the stock configuration. Thanks, Ken

I had 12ga 28" 201e from early 50s. The thing came in at 6&1/4lbs I certainly would not have used hot loads, buck, or slugs in it. It produced nice evenly distributed patterns with Gamebore traditional (felt wad) loads of English 7s. Its' time to buy some shells and use that thing. I would not bother loading some ole' fart loads for it as it's bothersome and boring activity. English do load traditional shells and modern ones with biodegradable plastic cups but where to find them in US and at what dreadful cost?

"Nice!! Does it have 32's? Have you ever seen one with a Monte?" nope, here is the one other I ever saw... http://www.ivorybeads.com/site/default.a...&FSID3=2717TsKIB,I knew a Ukraine who swore by those guns,if I recall correctly,it did look like a 200 series, they were the russian perazzi. As you can see in the link, that one has Briley thinwalls in it, so there is a solution.

Look for second-hand 60s vintage Soviet MTS-8. Last one I have seen had both monte-carlo stock and a cheek piece. It was hardly used and cost about $1400. These were put together by hand with delivery time of about 12 months when they were made. The Merkel is just too ugly to be that expensive. I shot something equivalent in Europe with name Simson DDR on it.
