Randy,
In prior posts demostrating Mr Ed's specialities, and in subsequent discussions of them, it has been reported that contact and information exchange has been attempted.
While I wouldn't be the historian of all this Ed-ness, being pretty much an occasional reader, someone here could prob'ly fill in the empty spaces on the subject.
It is appreciated that 'contact' would be the right thing to do. Unfortunatly, such effort has reportedly been a one-way street to Mr Ed.and his vendor[s], with no published reply to which I can refer. Historically, such a situation has not been uncommon in the past, regarding a few other select 'situations'.
Sigh.
However, this 'special effort' of the Master Gunsmith, as noted via the link above, sets a new standard -- in fact, is iconic as an illustration of "restoration", as it should not be practiced.
Too bad, and I doubt very much that anything written here will ever have an effect on the perp and his salesman. Hence, at best I have P'sd and M'nd about it, and that is that, for me. Once you see a really, really bad car wreck, the temptation to look closely at another one is pretty much reduced for the balance of y'r life.
