I don't see a date stamp in the typical location but if the serial is 261xxx, then the 1930s is a possibility. Can you post a pic or email a pic of the mark you describe as well as any other barrel marks? If it is a V,L&D with ejectors and upper hinged scears only, then it would be a Model 180E. What are the letter along the side of the right barrel flat?
