One of my favoriate 16X67 hammer doubles is an old Sauer that Husqvarna M52 appears to be a plain Jane copy of. With double underlugs and crossbolt, any normal, lower (10.500 psi or less) pressure 16 gauge ammo should not bother it, ever. Before having a gunsmith lenghten 65 mm chambers to 70 mm, have gunsmith determine (as should happen) that additional 5,0 mm of chamber will still leave plenty of barrel thickness. My Sauer weighs only about 6,2 lbs and my similar weight Husqvarna M48 also acheives this weight with lighter barrels than most Husqvarna hammer doubles, especially the underlever ones and toplever ones with early fluid steel barrels.

I much prefer Husqvarna or Sauer top lever, backaction sidelock hammer doubles to any of their internal hammered doubles for their better balance and handling, as well as easier carry in field. Presently, two such Husqvarna hammer doubles and one Sauer are my regular hunting guns, quail to geese.
