I have aquired about 100 of these of various makes, some I understand to be quite rare, Hart's pat., Kelsey, Keystone, Fowler, Parker Bros. etc. Where can I go to find out more about them and if I decided to sell some, where would be the best place to list them? Chris

Chris, some years ago, the Red Book of Sporting Collectible Values was published by Ronnie Roberts and Bill Birkbeck. This gives you a rough idea of what they thought shells etc. were worth THEN. This is not a very complete book on older items.

Gordon & JPB - Thanks for the auction site info. Daryl: Thanks for the book title, I've never heard of it, I'll see if it can help. Bob: Never though of calling Allen, thanks, he would be interested in some of this stuff.
This is an area I know very little about, but am finding it interesting. Especially with some of the cases having patent dates in the 1870's. Chris

Take your time selling them. Some are worthless, but others $$$. I have seen some Hart shells sell for $25 and up each.
