Your gun is a lot higher grade gun than the Cabelas gun...They are in la-la land as usual with their pricing on that gun. Hello HJ, Why do you think it is? I like the fences better on the Cabela's gun and the engravings look similar as far as coverage, although of different styles. Also in my infinite ignorance I would think the Cabela's piece was proofed in London, whereas the other has Birmingham proofing. Would that make a difference in favour of the Cabela's gun? Your feedback -or anyone's in the know- will be appreciated. JC

maybe Cabelas is overrating their FC Scott pricewise; but it looks better quality than our local FC Scott. The local one is most probably a pigeon gun geared for competition, the Cabelas one is a best gun marketed in London for the driven shooting gentry. As JC points out, the fences are better carved. Other small details are present, as the little striker channels in the ejectors, that are absent in the pigeon gun. All in all, the pigeon gun seems that was designed for the Continent, the barrels are sharp at 700 mm (In very good condition BTW). Perhaps we should get Cornell Publications catalogue for more info on the models they produced. Other views are welcomed.

Your gun looks to have finer engraving overall than the 20 ga. at Cabelas. Your gun has side clips and it's stocked to the fences the Cabelas gun is not.
Looks like someone has buffed the engraving off the screws holding the forearm iron on the Cabelas gun.
A best gun like the one you pictured is really worth what someone is willing to pay for it based on condition.

For $19K I would expect Cabela's to be able to spell 'elegant.'
