I was checking out my RBl-12 today and looked at the muzzle and noticed that instead of solder there was some sort of steel wool stuffed in there! What's up with this? I guess they must be using lasers to weld the barrels? But just stuffing steel wool in the gap seems silly. Anybody know the story on this?

IM,

On my RBL-12 muzzles I can't tell where the barrels end and the solder and ribs start. I also have an RBL-20 which I can see a very fine difference between the barrels and bibs.

If your RBL-12 has anything other than barrel and ribs showing at the muzzle there may be a defect. Better call CSMC!

Was the 20 prone to drooling?

My RBL 12x30 has solid solder closure at the end of the barrels. The barrels are really not close to touching.

The other possibilies are that the soldershot out or melted after 75 rounds. Either way this is the 2nd time in 1 month the gun will be going back to the factory.

Yea..Sounds like the solder fell out...steel wool was used for the backing....tell them to pour it a little thicker next time...
