I've found the passsenger manifest where John Wright's son, John, came over in 1923. Also found the manifest where John (the son)'s wife, Emily K. came over in 1925 with their 2 children. Great, you were posting this while I was typing mine ;-). What was the ships name and date for 1923?

I don't think I have a copy of "British Gunmakers" by Brown but do have a copy of "London Gunmakers" by him and has the same quote, more checking to be done. That's the way things work, answering one question brings up several more.
