i have to learn how to post pictures. i recently aquired a cased j.p.sauer sxs double rifle in exc. cond. manuf. in 1894. it came with orig. .43 spanish ammo, dies, etc. i loaded some modern ammo. i fireformed .348 win. brass and 42 grains of 4198. before i did all this i done a chamber cast and slugged the barrel it turned out to be a .43 spainish case BUT the bullet wasnot a .439 dia. bullet but a .429 bullet. this is an excellent example of why caution should be taken in shooting these old timers. it shot 9 inches high at 50 yds. but 2 inch groups. i duplicated the front sight blade to heighten it now it shoots dead on. i just wanted to share this with you. regards (the bullet is 375 grain lead bullet)
