Good day all, I stopped in a small gun shop during my travels the other day and struck up a conversation about reloading shells for my 1958 16ga. He pointed me to a few sacks of lead shot, #71/2 and #8's for $36.00 per 25 lb. sack. (good price?)

I then mentioned that I would like to load some non-tox, possibly Nice shot, and asked if he had the materials to do this. He said no, but he then pulled out two dusty 7lb./3.18kg containers of Bismuth shot, #2's and #BB's. He said he had several containers of each, at $115.00 Cdn. per. (7lb./3.18kg.)

So, should I run out to the bank and buy all his stock or stick with the Nice shot?

I would be using the reloads for geese(BB's) and ducks(#2's). My gun is choked fuller and fullest, and can't take steel.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Niceshot doesn't require buffer and doesn't break apart as Bismuth can. It can be substituted for lead in reloads. I like it.

Thanks, I was/am going to start reloading with Nice shot as I would like to use my 16ga. for waterfowl. I was really wondering if this was a good buy or not, as Nice shot is priced at $60/kilo and this is at $115.00 per 3.17 kg.

$36 per kg. for the bismuth, almost 1/2 price I would say?
