I wonder who Willian Larkin Moore uses?
BTW: How did the shoot go Saturday?

Dan and Dave are not forthcoming with that information Jim, but I think it is ...the other Dan since his cards are displayed in their shop.

How did you know where my shooting library is located?

Jim:

I've had a similar experience with William Larkin Morre as Drew. They were not very helpful in connecting me with their gunsmith to help fix a problem I have on another gun. I had hoped for more from them; however, they seemed focused on getting me to trade-in my double for a new gun from them. While I don't blame them for trying to sell their great guns, it was not what I needed or wanted to hear at the time. It left a bad taste that I'm slowly getting past.

Thanks;

Hey Drew:

Cool photos. Does something like your "Doubles in the Desert" happen in Phoenix at Ben Avery? I'd love to plug into this type of event. Please PM me with details so I can participate next time. I would have been happy to travel to Tucson to shot with you guys.

Thanks;

Jeff, you can do as I do, buy high and sell low. Very easy and works almost all the time.

Jeff, I think you will find, as you search, lots of guys with the same interest who can gladly answer questions that you might have. Over the years the folks I have known have been very helpful and visa versa. Read as much as you can and join the collectors associations and receive their newsletters.

Years ago I got a nice buy on a Win. 21 , 16 ga, Skeet Gun. I had Sam Welch engrave it and shape the receiver's less than pleasing lines and now I have a gun that I am quite proud of, built to my specs. If I were to do another upgrade custom gun, I would seriously think about a later Lefever in 12 or 16 gauge as a starting point. For resale ejectors are a wise choice.

Sounds like Senor Snyder attended the Bernie Baruch Business School- trick is finding uninformed potential sellers of good or better guns that don't know their true worth (and Cabela's and Gander Mountain have dipped into that well many a time)-- You also have to have the mindset that will not allow you to "fall in love with any certain gun"--be as objective as you can- some guys go "Ga-Ga" over Sophia Loren or Tina Turner (two older broads who have aged well) others over fine vintage wines, Scotch whisky or Cuban cigars- others get that way over fine marbled Circassian walnut and blued steel- put me in all three groups, but a fine shotgun or rifle is a treasure indeed. Yup- buy 'em low and sell 'em higher, when the shifting sands of the market allow that to happen for you-
