Jeff, I think you will find, as you search, lots of guys with the same interest who can gladly answer questions that you might have. Over the years the folks I have known have been very helpful and visa versa. Read as much as you can and join the collectors associations and receive their newsletters.
Years ago I got a nice buy on a Win. 21 , 16 ga, Skeet Gun. I had Sam Welch engrave it and shape the receiver's less than pleasing lines and now I have a gun that I am quite proud of, built to my specs. If I were to do another upgrade custom gun, I would seriously think about a later Lefever in 12 or 16 gauge as a starting point. For resale ejectors are a wise choice.
