Ask George Lander, he is apparently the expert on Bo Whoop.

I 2nd Don's recommendation. Nash himself mentions it in several of his stories & Evans also discusses it in his commentaries. Quite a bit of info on Bo Whoop therein.

Next to Mr. Buck, Dr William "Chubby" Andrews handled and shot both the first and second guns. I suggest his book, Nash Buckingham,Beaver Dam and other hunting tales!

google "bo whoop buckingham". You will find a rail car of references. Search on the Parker forum, the Fox forum, and doublegunshop.com forum. You will get enough reading for the winter.

Interesting that a gun of such historical and literary significance in America that has recently surfaced after decades of speculative loss has just now been a topic on this forum. I know the Fox Collectors site has a lengthy thread running, but I would have thought the larger double gun community here would have been all over the second coming of the original Bo Whoop. Maybe we're all waiting until Julia's finally puts it on the block and the bidding begins? I'm nost curious to see if it's new owner will be known to the public.

We did have a pretty long thread about the re-appearance of Bo-Whoop some time ago, but what with the lingering questions of "theft by conversion" and "recieving stolen property" statutes, the folks claiming personal knowledge of the situation pretty much clammed up around here...Geo
