Glad to oblige. Funny story about that gun.
My father in law has been looking for a 16 gauge shooter for a few years.
When it first came in, one of the gun room "helpers" showed the gun
to my F-I-L and tried to pass the crack in the wrist as "grain flow and figure staining."
I don't think anything underhanded was going on, just ignorance.
Just part of the charm of the big box stores. I've been keeping tabs
on it to see how long before they start discounting. Hasn't dropped yet,
and I don't think it's going anywhere.

Nice people to work with also, give you the straight scope on their guns and they do have breechloaders.

I did find a project.I guess I was on the wrong site and did not explain better what I wanted. As I got lots of emails for things like a fox field grade. needs barrel liners etc and a cracked stock needs repair. And refinish metal work for a nice gun 1,150.00 etc,etc. Smile I did say I was a novice. My mistake. Smile Whitey
