OP Model2128Ga Sidelock Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 102	I have an Iver Johnson Hercules with a stuck forearm. I removed the forearm screw , but I can not budge the forearm from the barrels. Afraid to use tools for I might split the wood. Any ideas from anyone for a solution?? Thank you! Last edited by Model2128Ga; 01/02/10 07:45 PM.

KY Jon Sidelock Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 7,893 Likes: 651 Red State	With metal items often cold will shrink the fit enough to get a stuck item apart. If that fails try try vibrate or tap item, then hit firmly and last swear and cuss works for me.

Mike Bonner Sidelock Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 1,393 BC west coast	I was shown how to remove a stuck forend from a sxs by a gunsmith/stockmaker friend. He took a tapered piece of hardwood, in this case about 12" long, 1/2" high at the blunt end, tapering to nothing, 1/4" wide, pushed the thin end under the forend tip and tapped the wedge with a rubber mallet and the forend popped off easily and no metal was scratched.
