Ok, both the Kassner imports have an asking price of approximately $1,000. From what I can tell, both guns where likely manufactured by Zabala and imported by Kassnar in the early eighties. I have been unable to determine how much these guns sold for new although I have been told they went for somewhere in the neighborhood of $600 (I have no idea how reliable this is). Both guns appear to be in similar condition. I'm also very curious about a new Zabala. Their website shows that they are still manufacturing a 10gauge SxS (213 Magnum). Does anyone have any information regarding a current importer for Zabala? http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/admin/product_details.php?itemID=9404

I have talked to a couple folks on another board who say the two Kassnar imports (Zabalas) are worth around $500-600 US. While I dont want to pay double the value for one of these guns, I do need to get something as soon as possible.
(This gun was supposed to be a Christmas gift from my mother to my father. Mother couldn't find a 10 gauge SxS by Christmas. . . long story short, I was given task to locate one.)

Fifties and sixties vintage Neumann tens, made in Belgium are also to be considered. They are a bit higher quality than the ones you are looking at, but sometimes sell for low prices.

My Zabala has "cast" engraving and has a blued action, 30" barrels. The one you have listed may have the same engraving, but has a coin finish on the action, and nicer wood than mine did, and 32" barrels. Dunno, a 10 in the hand vs. the "theoretical" market price of $500-$600? Call 'em up and see if they'll drop the price $150...if they don't bite, keep looking and tell your dad that Santa's elves are working on it? Mike Doerner
