I like your stock duplicator. I want to start refinishing some stocks in the near future. At my local Home Depot, I've seen both
boiled and raw linseed oil. I've heard that Venice turpentine can
be obtained at horse supply places. It is used on the hoofs of horses. I hope to try some of the stock refinishing recipes in
Clyde Baker's book "Modern Gunsmithing". He talks about using
"oil soluble red" or "alcanet root" as well. There was a recent
discussion about "alcanet root" on the shotgun board.
