Let me know if you are able to get Venice Turpentine at your local tack shop. I, too, am inspired by Michael Petrov's book. I bought a couple of sporter stocks from gunstocks.com when they had their fire-damaged sale and am learning about inletting, fitting forend tips, and buttplates, and hopefully soon, I will have my first stock to the point where I can start finishing it. I've got a long way to go.
