LD, That is quite a hunt. Those numbers are staggering. Put the math to what damage those 413 coyotes have done to the game populations over the last couple years. And what about those 700 still on the loose. I can't imagine how tough it is to raise a pheasant brood out there. I bet in the spring the coyotes are just frantic searching for the young chicks, gobbling them up as fast as they can. I've seen a few coyotes here in nothern Michigan run around hunting at a dead run. I think they have developed a flushing style for hunting grouse, woodcock and turkeys. Coyotes that have come into the turkey call are in high gear when they hit the decoys. Must be an advantage to take a bird out of the air. Mentioned this before, but I was 10 yds away in my front yard and watched a coyote take one of our chickens. Chicken ran, took flight and coyote knocked it right out of the air. Snatched it when it hit the ground and took off for the swamp. The garden hose in my hand was a poor choice of weapon. Coyotes, hawks, coons, possums, snunks are bad news for the upland game. Just bought a 243win for my daughter, and a 6mm Rem for myself to get serious about these coyotes. Always need an excuse for a different gun. Great buys on GB. Last Dollar, keep us posted on your coyote take for the winter and how they damage your pheasant population. Randy
