Just had a friend give me a little hammer double with no name on it. Pretty much a beater, that's why he gave it to me. But it's an interesting gun in that I can't figure out what gauge it is.

It's obviously a shotgun, smoothbore, no sights, etc. At first glance I thought it was a 28 gauge but then looked closer and it was too small so I thought maybe a 32 gauge. I got it home and checked it against my shell collection but even a 32 won't go in it. It's bigger than a .410 or a .44 XL though, quite a bit bigger.

Is there another gauge between those two that I'm unaware of? I've collected paper shells for ages and have never seen or heard of anything but I never claimed to know everything.

I'll post a pic of it and the proof marks as soon as I get a chance.
