The forend iron should fit fine from the 28g. However, the wood will not be without some generous gap from the barrels.

If I can't find a forend iron set, I'll hew the iron from billet. But that Deeley latch is the bugger in the batch of parts. I bet there's two days work it that alone. If you're a machinist will understand what I'm saying. The actual forend iron is the easiest part in the bunch to make.
