I've been down with the flu the past few days and my good wife obtained a copy of the recent Gray's Sporting Journal to help me avoid a total melt-down while trapped in bed. In GSJ is an article written by Terry Wieland on a leather artisan named Jim Wear. I had the good fortune to meet Mr. Wear at the ACGG Expo in Reno a few weeks ago. He was kind enough to spend some time with me and share his philosophy on how to craft a proper gun case. I recall being mesmerized by all the attention to detail and highly detailed work that went into one of Mr. Wear’s fine gun cases. There is no aspect of his cases that are not custom created by Mr. Wear himself.
