I have a Beretta 410E 20 Bore with an english stock that has the bolt thru the buttstock. Is it possible to have the stock bent down on guns with the stock bolt? If so, Who would you recommend that can do the job.
Thanks

It depends on the wood grain, a stock bolt is not a problem. Lots of good guys out there that can do it. Any pictures of the wrist of the gun, I may be able to give you an idea if it is possible or not.

Mike Orlen in Amherst, MA, has a great reputation for bending stocks (as well as other gunsmithing work). I have a Beretta 471 with him now being bent for cast off.

Just wondering, in light of recent comments, how long has he had your gun?

Dropped it off on Tuesday of this week, so about 34 hours so far.

Spoke with Mike this morning - stocks on both guns (RBL-12 & Beretta 471) are bent and I will be picking them up tomorrow morning at 8:30 am.
Pretty darn quick turn around if you ask me!

I use Mike and send him probably four guns a month, usually for choke work. He still turns them around in about a week. I don't know what the issue is, but whoever started any rumor about Mike delaying things should clean up his own house first before throwing stones in Mike's direction.

how is it bending a pistol grip with a stock bolt, can this be done fairly easily or does this require reboring of the hole?

To add to Jonty's questions - does the bolt get bent, too? How hard is it to remove the through-bolt after the stock has been bent?
