Yes. It is no different than any other repair. There are many coats of finish on top of the blending work.

English hand, double triggers, what looks to be a greater than 15" LOP...love it.

Ian, I am most comfortable with a 15 1/2" length of pull. So, I do have a few guns with extensions , just to make them shootable for me. I carried the gun for 20 years in the "before" condition, sort of ignoring the non matching grain, but now I don't have to look at the difference anymore.

Daryl,
By your post I assume you had the extension already on the gun, and Mark matched up the grain figure and finished it? Will Mark also add the wood extension, or does it need to be already in place when he receives it?

Thank you, Jim, a very general ballpark figure would be in the $250-$400 range. It all depends on how much original finish has to be removed, how large the blended area is, how much refinishing is necessary, whether or not disassembly and repair of the stock is required, etc. On Daryl's gun, I didn't have to remove that much original finish, so I was able to get by with refinishing and blending just to the checkering line, which saved quite a bit of time. He sent the forend as well, which helped in matching color and finish. I have also repaired a few stocks that were in 2-3 pieces and then used this method to cover the dark crack lines, although not in the checkered areas unfortunately. I am buying some checkering tools today to see if I can find a way around this problem. Here are a couple pics of a void repair on a belgian hammer gun I did a couple weeks ago: Before:  After:
