Got mine today to. I'll be forming to Lovell also. Do you plan to anneal the necks first? My plan is to size in two steps. First in a 25-20 FL die, then in the Lovell die. Let me know how you make out with it.

Looks like we are going to have to anneal it. Tried sizing one and it split down the side.

My plan, when I have time, is to anneal, size to .25-55 SS then .22-Lovell. Might trim to length after sizing to .25-20, they do seem a bit long.

John, Make sure you leave in the de-capping rod when you run them into the 25-20 FL die. I was not paying attention and folded up one neck. I annealed ten and they worked fine, spent most of the time trimming to length. When we get some shooting weather I'll load these up on the warm side and see how they hold up.
Should be a piece of cake for you guys with .25-20 SS rifles. I've owner two nice ones in the past but never could get them to shoot as well as I thought they should so they are gone.

I am really surprised to hear that Michael. I have a beautiful deluxe Low Wall in 25/20SS that shoots as good as it looks.

I am really surprised to hear that Michael. I have a beautiful deluxe Low Wall in 25/20SS that shoots as good as it looks. The rifles were a high-wall and Ballard with a Peterson barrel, both had mint bores. For whatever reason they just were not a good as I wanted. After casting and weighing bullets, mixing up lubes and all the other stuff associated with a lead bullet rifle I just decided it was not worth the effort. Not to put you on the spot but how well does yours shoot?

When I could still see my 100 yard targets I could average 1 1/2"s. Nowadays I'm happy to hit my big gong. I have to stop relying on my memory. When I when out to the gun room to get my shooting notebook, I realized its a high Wall.
