If anyone has any pics of engraved guns (SBT) I'd like to see one.

I was told of a highly engraved gun that was paired with a Three Barrel Gun Company single barrel trap that was also highly engraved. I never saw the guns so I can't verify if they did indeed exist.

I recently aquired a copy of a very early Lefever Arms Comany, Catalogue,Size 7 3/4 x 9 inches, 31 pages. Has duck shooting scene on cover. There is no mention of a trap gun in this catalogue. Starts with illustrations of their $1000 gun,a total of 12 grades of gun and their engraving pattern are included
in the catalogue. Is this catalogue a rare collectors item?

Roy, it's a relatively common catalog in a group of relatively rare catalogs. You won't find Lefever Arms Co. single barrel traps. The single barrels were made by the D.M. Lefever Company of Syracuse, Bowling Green Ohio, and maybe a couple of other stops. This company, using a few different but similar names, made what appear to be boxlock type actions. Some were boxlocks, but some that appeared the same , were triggerplate actions. Their period of life was 1901-1906, plus or minus. Lefever Arms Co. was operating at the same time. Your catalog value might surprise you if you put it on Ebay. I never paid more than $75 for one, but I sometimes see them offered for many multiples of that.

The gunrunnersauction site has the Lefever trap gun up this month. The SN is 16. The pictures aren't up yet but they generally there in a few days. I have nothing in the gun. I just saw it the other month

The photos are up. Hardly a looker by lefever standards, but historically interesting. Since the current bidder is a good friend I will be content to watch from the sidelines.

Just curious, how do these guns differ from the more common Lefever Long Range Field and Trap guns?

The DM Lefever SBT's are a trigger plate action design made by DM Lefever after he left the Lefevr Arms Co. The "Lefever" long range trap guns are box locks designed by Ithaca Gun Co. long after DM Lefever passed away.
