I need the left cocking piece for an old Webley Scott 20 gauge. Where would be a good place to look?
Thanks

Phil, you'll not find anything off the shelf. Your only viable option is to have a qualified smith make you a new one. Sorry.

I'll second that. How old is the W & S? Some of the later ones; 700 models for instance, did employ a lot of machine made parts although hand fitting would be required. Holland & Holland bought them out. It may be a slim chance that they may just have some old components that could be fitted. I would give it a go via e-mail as you have nothing to lose. Be prepared to find a good Gunsmith though. Good luck! Lagopus.....

You may want to try gunmaker Tony White. He was trained at Scott's and I think purchased a lot of their components, don't know from what era however. If you do get lucky don't expect a drop-in fit....

Thanks for the replies. Since only the end is broken, maybe I can find a gunsmith to rebuild that portion.

That's very possible, Phil. Be sure to pick a smith who specializes in double guns--who really understands them. Without naming names there are a number of highly qualified men who post on this site that you can completely trust to put her right.

This certainly sounds like a job for a good TIG welder. Get him, or her, to use spring steel wire or similar as this will be hardenable. You will probably need to anneal the steel before filing and polishing. When filed and polished, harden and temper, re-polish and away you go.

Hi Geno
Only if you include a round trip ticket and hotel for my wife and I to St. Pet's and we will hand deliver it.
John.
