Thank you 2-Piper and others for your advise regard my idea to change the shot in old 410 "00" shotshells. I think I will keep the shotshells as they are and buy modern ammo to shot (quite expensive here, about $15 dollars for a 25, 2 1/2", 1/2 oz box and only #7 1/2 or #6 shot).
I do not practice live pigeon shooting, but as I know there are 3 different styles and one of them have 2 "substyles"
Colombaire: the pigeon are "launched" by hand. The "colombaire" (person that hand thrown the pigeon) are in front of you in a special colombaire "stand" with areas and wires that limit the position of shoter and colombaire (pigeon must pass over the wire to be a valid one). This style have 2 substyles: traditional and "valenciano", but I do not know for sure the differences between both.
Jaula: I think this is the world known traditional pigeon shooting. 5 cages in front of you and when you call the bird one of the cages opens randomly and then the bird is free to fly. A tennis size ball fall when the cage is open so the bird is scared and then fly. You can not shoot the bird until he is flying. If the bird refuses to fly, a person launches up to 3 balls to make the bird fly; if the pigeon do not fly after the 3rd ball, he is called null and the shooter starts again.
Barnabie: Same 5 cages in front of you, but those ones have a mechanism that "catapult" (launch) the bird when the cage relases, so the bird is forced to fly.
