If you open photos in another window you can see them better (bigger).
(Right click and choose "Open image in New Window").

The type of damascus is something I'd like to know too. I imagine that I. Meffert
being a reputable craftsman, the quality of the damascus should be above average.

According to present owner, it was made around 1900 and has no proofmarks.
