GKT,

I believe the poker term is "I call."

But I'll retract my speculation about why you may have erroneously quoted Oscar and I apologize for it.

The $100 bet is still offered.

regards, Mike.

I seem to remember from back in the infancy of my doublegun education on this site, a post by Oscar to the effect that he had seen guns displayed in a sunlit display case where one side of the case color had faded and the other side had not. His reaction to that was that he could think of no scientific reason for the sun to have faded the color, but obviously, it did. Don't trust MY TERRIBLE MEMORY to settle your bet though...Geo

Mike- Oscars comments were all made a long time ago and specific memories fade with time. Like the others who were around back then, if Oscar posted, I read it and accepted his opinions as gospel regardless of the subject. I remember this disussion and several more on the subject and remember Oscar having written sunlight dosen't fade color, wear does. It seems at least several others have the same recollection.

I've read many of your posts and hold your opinions in high regard but in this case, I feel you are mistaken. I've also followed Greg Tags posts with great interest and have learned a great deal about Ithaca guns from him. NEVER have I seen him misrepresent anything. Because you didn't read something posted before you apparently joined dosen't mean it wasn't posted. To impune Greg's integrity because no one seems to be able to provide a link to a ten year old string does not become you.

Again, I hold you in high regard but in this case I feel you're incorrect.

George- I also remember the comments about the guns in a case fading on the sunny side. How the two comments go together I don't know but I'm wondering which he made first. Oscar was a prolific poster. Is it possible he posted one and recondidered later?
