Eightbore:
Mark's skill lies in the application of "grain" or "figure" to blend in existing extensions and make them virtually invisible. He does the same magic for "plain" wood stocks, creating highly figured wood from modest grain. This was primarily the case for my Westley stock... although it had some minor repairs that Mark hid masterfully.
This is of great benefit for altered/repaired guns -- or stocks that show an imbalance of figure from side-to-side. It also holds promise for damaged stocks.
Mark is a stock graining artist/finisher, not a stock maker. But under the proper circumstances, his skills can be an invaluable (and cost-effective) asset.
