Larry got most of it right. The 700 has those hammers that have the funny points on them to fire the cartridge-they do break and it is a PITA to get them fixed. The Beretta firings pins break also, but, they are on the shelf at Ahlman's Custom Gun (among other places) and are a drop-in fix.
The double trigger and straight stock combination wins hands down for me, all other things being equal. I'd be willing to bet the Beretta has more and better executed engraving than the 700. But, they are both pretty decent guns.
Which one has stock dimensions closer to what you need? Or, choking? Nice not to have to get the gunsmith involved right away on a new gun.
