I had been watching this auction

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=171395953

and I was just curious about this rifle and was wondering what people thought about it.

Very nice indeed.

It's times like these I really wish I were right handed. Would save me a bunch of money thinking about recreating it from scratch on a LH action. This one ticks all the boxes except perhaps for the floor plate.

cheers,

It's an interesting rifle and I felt it post War so I moved on. Sedgley took over from Henry Kolb before WWI so I don't think he had anything to do with this.

It looks like a cross between a Sedgley and Jaeger. There is one class of rifles out there that are marked with nothing but "P.JAEGER", they too look post war to me but I could be wrong.

The only rifles to date that I have found that are pre-war Jaegers are marked, on the barrel, "P. JAEGER PHILA, PA".

Someone who is more knowledgeable about the side mounts might be able to date that. I've been working on all the pre-war Jaeger mounts and still don't have them sorted out.

A pre-war Jaeger,
