I'm not aware of what rifles sell for in NZ.
Here in the US a K-Mauser in nice condition without the bolt should bring a couple thousand US. Sounds like the rifle in question is well worn and the model unknown so I would think that $1000 would be MY limit. Could you post some pictures?
Figure another thousand for a bolt, say $700 to refinish the stock & re-blue the rifle. You would have around $2700 in the rifle. Of course if you can do the work yourself or live with the condition it's in now all the better, money wise.
