Yesterday a customer brought in a German made shotgun marked on the barrels Gebr Adamy. 16ga, 65mm chambers, made in November 1942. Nice light sxs, nice engraving, about 90% plus condition. I did a search and found their website and found they have been in business over 200 years. Currently they make O/U shotguns, bolt rifles and various combo rifle/shotguns. Can anyone add any input on this gun, what should be the price range of these guns? Thanks Bill

Bill, I think you will get a much more positive response with some photos of the gun. Otherwise the question is sort of like asking I got this Ford car, what is it worth? Not enough information to compute an answer. This maker made a range of guns and has a pretty good reputation. Compare it to a comparable prewar JP Sauer shotgun and recognize the Sauer will probably get a little more because it is a broadly recognized name and quality. I would expect this gun to be equal to comparable Sauer quality wise.

Lee Marvin shot an Adamy overunder on his Mexican dove shoots and thought it a fine gun. So do I. Chopper

The Late Don Zutz (sp?) shot one too, didn't he?
But I think it was an O/U Gun.

I ATTEMPTED to attach pictures, hope it works. As stated above, this gun was made November, 1941. It seems to be nicer that any Sauers that I have examined, but I have looked at only lower grades. Bill

nice piece. stuff like that usually brings $1500+ in my neck of the deep woods. that was made prior to el alamain and stalingrad when fritzie was riding mighty high. some for reasons best known only to themselves like nazi eagle marks so it might be worth more to them.

Looks like a nice war time gun, proofed in 11/42, Krupp steel barrels, 2.5" chambers, if it has no dings or dents in the barrels and they ring true, with no other problems, I would tend to agree with $1,500 as an UPPER END estimate, depends on just who wants it and how much they want it.
