Maybe they will now build up a rifle to take all three scopes and engrave it to match. I recall a post here about a month ago, one of our guys is going down to G&H in the next week or so, he could ask them.

Ebay now assigns arbitrary names for bidders, coincidentally the winning bidder was g****h, but not G&H. Paid just about $5k for all three.

I once sold a complete set of Boranni wire wheels for a 1960s Ferrari 330GT, to a fellow who didn't even own a Ferrari. They were in mint original condition and included the matching spare wheel, which is unheard of. (The price was about the same as the three eBay scopes, BTW). The buyer was a veteran car collector who figured that having the correct wheels would motivate him to finally step up and buy a vintage Ferrari to put them on.

Who knows, maybe something like that is mystery scope buyer's plan?

Anybody besides me ever bought a gun because you already had a scope?

I'm now building a rifle because I had the mount first and later bought the scope and then the action, does that qualify?

Great minds run in the same channels and fools think alike...(VBG)

Well I've started with just the stock and I have friends that started with just the barrel.

I have a Howe-Whelen sight new in the box that I've been thinking should be on a rifle ;-).

I've bought handguns to go with ivory grips, British rifles to go with cases and a very expensive rifle to go with a rear Creedmore sight....apparantly many of us share the same insanity. I am still looking for the Pope rifle that goes with a numbered false muzzle I own.
