The Sporter looks more like the original Boss design than the Perazzi.
A P&V would certainly be cool to have (not the Purdy things)but the utility of having a "production" gun like a Perazzi that has all the same attributes, namely Italian, is certainly attractive. I have Perazzis cuz they are simply super guns and I can afford the older ones. If something horrible happens like a part wearing out, it can be easily and relatively cheaply replaced. Fortunately over the last twenty years I have had only to replace three locking bars (needed when I got the guns) and one firing pin. When the firing pin broke I was just astounded! I simply could not believe that something had gone wrong. And that gun only had maybe 50-60K rounds thru it.
I would only suggest that if you plan to get the P&G, please get it the way you want it to start with. Please don't mutilate the barrels with aftermarket choke tubes and carve the stock to make it adjustable. Right now there is a set of Perazzi barrels for sale for $1300 that would be worth close to twice that if someone had not had Briley WTF chokes carved into an already Perazzi factory choked lower barrel. What a moron, and what a shame. But that's JMO of course. Your money, your gun.
