...the seller has 3 of them a 2.75X, a 4X and a 6X. Makes me wonder what happened to the rifles or perhaps they were all for one gun? G&H Mounts

Undoubtedly all for one rifle. Wonder where it is. Wonder who the engraver is. Style is Germanic. Fugger? Not quite like my Fugger 1903 or other Fuggers I have seen. Also, I think, possibly postwar or at least the Zeilsechs with the under rail may be a postwar scope. But then could the engraving all match? Don't know when G&H stopped supplying - not quite the same as making - windguage mounts.

i suspect that scope was made in late 30s. it has single coating of magnesium fluoride on objective and eyepiece lenses which gives lens characteristic blue tint.

Does something seem fishy about the bidding going on for these 3 scopes? The prices track the same with the same amounts on each at the same time. Could be nothing but......

The same person was bidding on all three, now a new person is bidding on all three and canceled out the first bidder's high bids. Relax they have a LONG way to go yet ;-).

The latest bid is by GRIFFIN AND HOWE themselves! I have bid against them before on a single lever G&H SCOPE MOUNT AND THEY KNOW NO LIMIT IN THEIR BIDDING. I can only assume they already have a buyer(s) or they know people will pay a premium because they have the item. When G&H starts bidding, you had better want it very... very bad!!! GOOD LUCK Jerry

Oh I am relaxed just was curious about the bidding. I am not one of the bidders or am I interested, these are for collectors and I am not a collector. Thanks for your input.
If Alvin is correct then maybe we should have a false auction and let people say what they think the sell price will be. I will abstain because I have no idea.

The Zielvier 4x made $1775, could not call up prices on the 4x and 6x but the same bidder was after them when they were all at $700 or so. Hope he owns the original rifle or this was a truly extravant purchase or purchases.
