Saad it’s hard to determine if the barrels and or gun was special order by the notes. But Pete already stated that Delcour-Dupont made Damascus barrels well into the 1930,s and your gun was built in 1928.

I see twist or laminated?

I thought I saw laminate.

I have a 12 bore Jeffery 2.5 chanbers serial # 20188 made in 1924. Yes, although my gun is a higher grade (sorry, don't want to sound like a dupa)the top lever is blue and there is some evidence of bluing on the floor plate, too. I believe I got the date from the Nigel Brown book as well (leafing through it at a gun show many years back)

This is a most informative post, and I really appreciated the knowledge of the subject(s) expounded upon by youse guys from both sides of the Atlantic. I miss a lot of the guys who used to be contributors in the early part of this century, and I stopped signing on for whatever reason (maybe because I was forced to sell 90% of my gun collection?) but now I'm back and it's great to see some familiar names as well as tose who are new to me and quite knowledgeable.

Over the past few days reading I've taken a real shine to you 2 Brits, Leggy Peggy and the other one. You guys toss out these wonderful obscure facts in so many diverse threads, great to read and learn. Many Thanks!
