I have an opinion. I think the failures are the result of some Melvin that got something wrong. I think this is another myth like the 270 reduced charge blowups. I would not hesitate to shoot any springfield with my own handloads. Anyone here seen the Rifleman article about the guy that ground the pilot on the reamer down so he could shoot 30/06 in his 6.5 arisaka couldnt blow that one up either.
