The #3 Silvers pad actually has plugs that are 11/16" in diameter and the Griffin pad has plugs that are 1/2" in diameter. The hole spacing of the Silvers is 3 1/8" and the spacing of the Griffin pad is 3 1/4". Steven, the Griffin pad should lie flat because there is a 1/2" metal flat washer in each hole. If I think I can bend that washer, I just drop another one in on top of it. If you use flat bottom screws, there should be no problem. I bought my first dozen Griffin pads in 1986 and have been using them ever since.
